It works on Brave, Edge, Google Chrome (including Chrome OS) and Mozilla Firefox as well as Safari on Mac. There's also 1Password X, aka 1Password in the Browser, a browser extension that does not require the companion desktop app. Chrome OS uses the 1Password Chrome extension. In May 2021, the 1Password Linux desktop app officially moved out of beta it supports most major Linux distributions. On macOS, you will need 10.13 High Sierra or later. It currently requires 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11. Its desktop app works best on the most up-to-date operating systems. The Windows desktop app is only available in the Microsoft Windows Store (opens in new tab).ġPassword's options are a little less complicated, but just as robust. The LastPass desktop app works on supported versions of Windows and macOS, although LastPass would rather you stick to the browser extensions. Full support with automatic form-filling requires Android 8.0 Oreo or later, but the app will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and later. On mobile, LastPass is available for iOS 13 and up. The "binary" Chrome browser extension is not supported in Chrome OS. On Mac, the desktop app gives you the Safari binary extension, but there's a separate installer for the Chrome one.Ĭhrome OS can use either the regular LastPass Chrome browser extension or the LastPass Android app. To get the "binary" extensions on Windows and Linux, use the universal installer. The second type of extension, available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera, has a " binary component" that can log you in (and out of) LastPass on other desktop browsers and supports Windows fingerprint login. ![]() ![]() (Brave and Vivaldi can use this Chrome extension and SeaMonkey the Firefox one.) If not, the personal subscription works out at three times more expensive than Enpass’s $1 monthly plan.1Password does not have a free option, but it does have a trial period of two weeks. LastPass' free tier lets you use the premium functions for a month. That being said, LastPass is only more competitive if you’re able to get five friends or family members to share an account. Not only does it come with 1GB of encrypted file storage, but it also grants you the option to add contacts for emergency access. When it comes to the paid subscription, LastPass offers the most comprehensive password manager of the two. However, since Enpass’s free version limits the ability to use the mobile app, LastPass can be a better solution for people who want to have their personal information in their pocket. If you’re looking for a simple way to store your complex and unique passwords, both Enpass and LastPass’s free subscriptions are more than enough. If you share a Family account with five other people, you can get all of this for as low as $0.67 per month. ![]() The LastPass premium subscription adds 1GB of encrypted file storage, advanced multi-factor options, emergency access, and the ability to share multiple items with others simultaneously.
